Seasonal decor includes products that can be found available during their growing or production season. Such things are not available at other times of the year unless shipped in from outside sources. All our seasonal decor items are grown or produced here at our nursery and gardens. There are four seasons of decor items that may pop up as availability occurs-Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. Right now we have no items for spring or summer but we tend to have some fall items and will have winter items soon.
Fall seasonal decor items include gourds, pumpkins, corn stalks, hedge balls, bittersweet berries, and decorative corn. All these items are important for the creative displays in the autumn months of September, October, and November. Gourds, pumpkins, and cornstalks are very familiar in the fall, but many forget about the versatile hedge ball, also known as Osage Orange fruit, These balls are not considered edible and should not be ingested, but can be used on tables or in containers, spray painted, or used as a spider/insect repellent in windowsills. Bittersweet grows both in the wild and in cultivation around our nursery. We often cut long vines full of berries to use as table decoration or in large mixed containers. These berries are not edible to humans but are desired by birds in the winter months.
Winter seasonal decor will include red and yellow dogwood branches as they become more available, greenery from juniper, arborvitae, and spruce, and dried seedheads of various grasses and perennials.
